💡 Creator Profile: WealthSquad Chris

Chris Johnson is a hidden gem, yet, everyone knows him. He’s a self-made Twitter millionaire and the founder of the Wealth Squad. He’s the reason I created this newsletter and someone I’m going to thank over and over again, as he has shown myself and many others that it is possible.

What is “it”? Well, you’re about to find out.

🧠 Behind the Brand:

WealthSquad Chris wasn’t always his name. This was something that he would earn later in life. His actual journey began as Chris Johnson, a humble name, with even humbler beginnings.

Chris began his entrepreneurial journey venturing into the world of e-commerce, selling luxury watches on Shopify under the brand name Seventeenth Watches. Through this venture, Chris not only gained success in the e-commerce world, but also, in the solopreneur world, as he would later find out that his customer base was not only interested in his luxury timepieces, but also in the process behind their creation.

Chris began sharing this story everywhere, and the interest for this content really started to grow. With each revelation, he captivated his audience by sharing valuable insights. His authentic approach struck a chord with individuals seeking similar income opportunities and entrepreneurial paths. The combination of sharing his wins and educating his audience laid the foundation for Chris's remarkable journey.

Having gained trust of his followers, Chris ventured into digital courses. The information in these courses weren’t different from his tweets or stories that he shared online, but they were a packaged resource that new and old fans could purchase to get the full play-by-play on his success, without having to piece together old content.

Chris continued to evolve and so did the audience. He would go on to update his library of digital content, sharing everything he learned. From starting a side business to mastering various financial strategies, Chris never took his foot off the gas, empowering his community to embrace their own financial literacy.

With 120,000+ customer and over $4.5m in sales, Chris began to cultivate a group of financially literate soldiers. A few even worked their way up from followers of Chris Johnson’s, to leaders in their own right.

While he focused on dividends, someone else from the community would be giving advice on real-estate or cryptocurrency. Major players in the game would also begin to follow Chris, some were accountants, other were lawyers, all sharing their expertise amongst the Money Twitter community. They were the Avengers of finance and it wasn’t long before Chris noticed their impact.

After a few years of dominating Money Twitter, he would go on to move this group to one platform. The group shifted their focus to Discord and would forever be known as the Wealth Squad.

The Wealth Squad’s goal was simple, focus on generational wealth. And today they educate over 10,000 members on stocks, options dividends, sneaker flipping, real estate, e-commerce, branding, taxes, fitness, health and crypto (I’m probably missing a few).

The community has captivated the hearts and minds of those who are fortunate enough to discover it. Yes, they have 10,000+ active members, but I still believe they are one of the internet’s best-kept secrets.

💰 How They Monetized:

Chris's monetization strategy took shape through various ingenious steps. This is a long breakdown, but trust me, this strategy to success is worth the read.

First, he created a digital product that distilled his expertise and insights into starting a side hustle and earning additional income. The product wasn’t fancy, in fact, it was kind of terrible in terms of video quality, but the information in which he shared was worth gold compared to what he was charging.

The digital course was sold on Gumroad, for $35. It gained significant traction and generated substantial revenue. Today, you can still download these courses for $25.

To further amplify his sales, Chris utilized affiliate marketing. This may have been the first time his audience had ever heard of such an opportunity. He educated them on how to start a side business online, and then, he opened up the opportunity for them to practice what they learned by selling his digital products. Pretty genius!

This not only increased his revenue and reach, but it also became a mutually beneficial ecosystem, as affiliates earned commissions while promoting Chris's knowledge. The reward for those who sold the product, was 50%, which was well above the standard 20-30% you normally see from digital products.

He provided all the tools they needed to market on his Twitter page. Everything from screenshots of his earnings to testimonials from buyers. Chris did all the work for his “team”, all they had to do was share the product.

This all happened during the height of Covid, meaning everyone was at home and interested in making money. Chris Johnson’s account took off and he became the chosen leader of Money Twitter.

Recognizing the growth, everyone began to imitate Chris’s tactics. The way he created content, the way he created opportunities, it was all imitated. Understanding the value of teaching others, Chris decided to create another course teaching Money Twitter how to grow their own audience. Everyone was replicating his process anyway, why not sell it to them?

This course was entitled Twitter Money, and can still be downloaded today. Like the first course, this course wasn’t polished either, but it was filled with information as Chris shared strategies and techniques that had proven successful for him. By monetizing this course, Chris created another revenue stream while empowering individuals to cultivate their own online presence.

Excercising his financial gains, Chris ventured into the stock market during the COVID-19 surge, capitalizing on the opportunities presented by volatile markets. Sharing his triumphs once again, he created a course that demystified stock market investing, allowing others to learn from his strategies and potentially experience financial success themselves.

This was again, a ground breaking course for Chris’s audience as most of them had no idea how to invest in the stock market. As the revenue poured in from this course, Chris would begin investing in dividend stocks, this was a different venture from his previous course, as the goal here wasn’t to flip stocks for a profit, but to hold them for passive income.

Ideally, he would invest hundreds of thousands of dollars to net a few thousand dollars in passive income per month. To the majority of the world, this may have seemed like a bad move, but Chris would again educate them all by dropping another digital product, entitled Dividend Income Empire. This course would teach how passive income could lead to generational wealth if done strategically. This would be an absolute game changer for Chris himself, as it would push him from rich, to wealthy.

Are you noticing a cycle? Let me break it down for you.

Every time Chris would reach a new height, he would document the experience and share it with his audience.

  • Learned how to create/sell a product on Shopify. Shared it with his audience.

  • Learned how to grow a following on Twitter. Shared it with his audience.

  • Learned how to read charts and invest in the stock market. Shared it with his audience.

  • Learned how to pick dividend Stocks. Shared it with his audience.

He educated himself, then educated his community, all for a small price point. We can all do this by following the model: Learn, Do, Teach.

Chris’s audience began to grow and grow, but I would assume course sales started to dry, as by this time, the world would be getting back to, well, the world. I’m not sure if this effected Chris’s revenue, as he was far gone into dividends, but during this time he pivoted and would go on to launch his most successful product to date, the Wealth Squad.

This model was completely different from the $30-$50 course we’d see from Chris, but the value was much more significant. The Wealth Squad would bring together everyone who was interested in becoming wealthy, put them in one setting and allow them to learn based on their own interest. Chris brought together high profile leaders from other markets and would host classes on real-estate investing, crypto investing, the stock market and just about whatever other asset class you can imagine.

The ticket on this group was $25… a month! This model was an absolute game changer! Chris now had a consistent revenue stream and no longer has to focus on finding a new customer every day.

He realized that the road to being wealthy was never ending. There's always something to learn, there’s always something to do, thus there’s always something to teach. A monthly subscription works much better for this model, then a 30 minute course every month.

Today, Chris Johnson has done over $4.5m in Gumroad sales, the Wealth Squad has over 10,000 members, and the current monthly price is $75 per month. That’s $900 annually per person or $9,000,000 per year collectively. It’s not known if every member is paying $75, as the monthly membership was originally $25/m, but either way, that’s one hell of an accomplishment.

Chris Johnson's journey exemplifies the power of leveraging social media, sharing knowledge, and embracing diverse revenue streams. From selling watches on Shopify to cultivating a thriving community focused on financial empowerment, Chris's story is one of resilience, entrepreneurship, and the pursuit of generational wealth, but most importantly, helping others.

As Chris would say, this is a simple strategy, not easy, but simple. Anyone can do it, you just have to stick with it.

⚒️ Tools They Use:

🧑🏻‍💻 My Take:

There’s a lot of words in this article, but despite its length I truly do believe this is the most identifiable path to wealth for everyone reading. This takes no skill, just discipline.

Chris Johnson is smart, but he isn’t special and I mean that in the most respectful way. His approach was simple, he educated himself and then he shared what he learned.

Everyone can do this, your niche may not be wealth, but everyone can do it.

What have you learned recently? How many people did you want to share it with? Did you call your best friend? Maybe a family member? Instead of telling them, tell the world.

I’m learning about creators and entrepreneurs and I’m sharing you their stories. I’m simply learning and sharing. This is the easiest path to success. It’s not difficult, so it’s going to take patience, but if you can find a way to truly enlighten your audience then they’ll show up for you every day. The thing is, you have to show up every day first.

The most interesting takeaway from this article was Chris’s ability to pivot. This was possible because he was also a student. Typically when people gain an audience they stop learning. I’m guilty of this... We become teachers and we often think we know everything.

This was not the case with Chris. He understood that he was a student, I believe today he still understands that. He knew exactly where to take his audience because he too was wanted to go in that direction.

Having a loyal audience, wealth and as Chris would like to say, abundance, does not mean you have the privilege to take your foot off the gas.

Lastly, I noticed Chris Johnson’s ability to go against social norms. Whatever the general public would say or think, Chris would go against.

His tweets were honest and many would consider the earlier tweets contrarian thoughts. He pushed people’s buttons, but he also rewarded them with helpful insight. This really grew his audience, as both supporters and opposers shared his views.
